Wi-Fi is a device that allows you to connect to wireless communication devices such as personal computers and mobile devices. While it is easier and more convenient to connect to the Internet remotely using Wi-Fi technology, malicious interception of passwords to Wi-Fi for security reasons can lead to certain problems. The danger can cause the following unpleasant situations:
3. Use WPA2-PSK encryption (Wi-Fi Protected Access 2, Pre-Shared Key). This is considered the most secure and reliable encryption standard. To enter: Go to Interface setup -> Wireless -> Authentication Type and select WPA2-PSK standard.
4. Rename the original Wi-Fi (SSID). To enter: Go to Interface setup -> Wireless -> SSID and change. 5. Disable the Wi-Fi name (SSID) broadcast. By doing so, you are hiding your Wi-Fi connection. In this case, the villain must know the name of your network in order to access your network. To enter: Go to Interface setup -> Wireless -> Broadcast SSID and click “no”. 6. Change the Wi-Fi password and select a more complex password. Be careful when choosing a Wi-Fi network password. Prefer a password that is at least 8 characters long and contains letters, numbers, and special characters. To enter: You can change your password in the Interface setup -> Wireless-> Pre-Shared Key box.
– Initially, you define MAC addresses. To do this, go to the Status section of the modem settings and learn MAC addresses. If you have addresses here, select them and remember them. If you have MAC addresses belonging to other devices, they are malicious people who have joined your network without permission.
– In the Action section, click the Allow association box and enter the MAC addresses you received in the MAC address section.
8. Save the changes in the modem settings by clicking the “Save” box after each change in the menu.
9. Turn on the Firewall on your computer (enable).
